D.N.A and Education

Engaging, educating, and inspiring young people to act as good change agents are all made possible by disarmament education. Workshops and training programs aimed at educating people in order to help them contribute to disarmament efforts as citizens of their country and the world. With the potential presented by the largest generation of youngsters in our history, the significance of disarmament education is expanding. In order to provide a platform for the sustainable entry of young people from all over the globe into the field of disarmament, more education and training opportunities should be established, as stated by the Secretary-General in his Agenda for Disarmament.

The UN General Assembly also emphasized the significance of maximizing young people’s potential via education and capacity building by unanimously supporting its biennial resolution on “Youth, Disarmament and Non-Proliferation” on December 12 and 6, 2019, respectively. Youth participants in the Youth Forum on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation highlighted the need to acknowledge the essential significance of a youth-inclusive and youth-led disarmament education through the adoption of the Seoul Youth Declaration for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation in June 2021.
